MoMo Manchester – April 15th – Develop for BB10

The BlackBerry 10 platform has been widely acknowledged as “slick, easy to use and distinctly different to any of its rivals”. With standout handset features such as the keyboard predictive word feature, the BlackBerry hub, swipe to unlock, BlackBerry Balance (to split work/personal identities) and sharing of photos, songs and links via NFC, it’s no surprise that BB10 has been well received by developers, consumers and business’ alike.

Alex Bowker, Business Development Manager, will kick off by talking about the opportunities open to Developers on the new BlackBerry 10 OS. Luca Sale, BlackBerry Developer Evangelist, will take over and take a more in depth look at the platform and how Developers can build beautiful and engaging applications that will have the users calling for more! He will cover topics like Native Development, Web development and UI guidelines. The panel will discuss their experiences on BlackBerry 10 and show real examples of how it’s worked for them.

Claire Valoti is the MD for O2 Media. Previous to this role, Claire was the Head of Digital Display and Mobile at Mindshare and was co-chair at the Mobile Marketing Association.

Rob Weatherhead Head of Digital Operations for MediaCom, Rob oversees the delivery of digital campaigns for some of the country’s leading brands. His role spans all elements of the digital space and he is charged with delivering cross channel strategies for MediaCom’s clients.

Louise Evans has 8 years experience in digital and joined Yahoo! recently from the corporate client world of Unilever, where she was working in Global Brand Management for the Laundry category. She started her career agency side at OMD back in 2005, where she was planning & buying digital media for leading brands such as Peugeot, Sony and McDonalds. Today she is responsible for delivering the sales strategy for Yahoo.

Tom Cull sits on the Board at Carat Manchester and holds responsibility for the agency’s search & social products. Having built the department over the last few years to their now 55+ PPC, SEO and Social experts, Tom focuses his time on working with key clients on their strategic development, developing the agency’s digital products and working to develop talent within the teams to ensure continued results for their clients.
