You asked, so we deliver. The topic of next Mobile Monday Tampere is cloud services.

Based on your feedback after the launch of MoMo Tampere we asked for potential topics for next events. Cloud services and computing was quickly seen as the most popular idea, and it certainly fits to the definition of disruptive technology that affects all of our business in mobile.

We will meet 20th February in Teerenpeli (downstairs) @17.00. The speakers are Panu Mustonen from Elisa with the topic “Does every cloud service have a silver lining? From geek-talk to hype to today”. Tommi Mikkonen from Tampere University of Technology joins us with the topic “From the web of documents into a cloud of applications”.

The event has free drinks and food, sponsored by our friends at Elisa and Nokia.

In addition to our speakers we will reserve some time for an “open mic”: you are welcome to come and pitch about yourself or your business to the audience! Please reserve a pitch slot via email.

The first Mobile Monday Tampere event took place on November 14th at Pub Höyry. The event was sponsored by Ixonos and Nokia, and gave us a chance to meet and discuss about mobility in general and especially about “Mobility in Future Intelligence Machines”.

Speaking in the event were Pekka Yli-Paunu (R&D Manager, Cargotec Finland Oy), Jukka Hornborg (Ixonos) and Jari Tammisto (founder of Mobile Monday). The first event was a big success, with over 150 industry enthusiasts joining the evening! Tampere is the home of numerous mobile innovators, developers, companies, and communities – in the past, now, and in the future even more!
