Mobile Monday Global Events for Week of December 12th – 2011

Hey – WoW – It’s Really Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas!

That’s pretty much a wrap for 2011.. and what a year it’s been. Our best guess shows about 500 events held around the MoMo world over the last 12-months, with easy average of 100 delegates at each, means some 50,000 people were smiling! Taken a step further: lets book 1 Million hand-shakes as a direct result of everyones combined efforts.. many (many, many) thanks to you all.

With plenty of folks edging towards full panic shopping mode, we still have a few more events planned for this week. Belfast has plenty of ‘cheer’ on offer to get members there into the holiday mood and Brussels has SoLoMo theme with 5-speakers lined up. Third times the charm in Cairo for M-Health, Chicago is calling for internal organizers meet to plan their 2012 roadmap, beer and pizza should be involved, while Cleveland explores How to avoid mistakes in a nascent mobile market. Detroit will take this opportunity to discuss the Impact of 2011 and What the Future Holds while Hong Kong is having a Very Merry Mobile Monday tonite.

Perth gets Square on Thurs. the 15th and Singapore has HTC Dev. crew gathering for 12.12 at Harrys. Sydney celebrates Christmas summer and Tel Aviv runs a Startup Accelerator themed gig. Rounding out the dozen events for this week, Tokyo hosts Navteq for their year-end show.

Otherwise, indeed – the Happy Bots are just back into the groove here, jet lagged with sand in our shorts, best wishes to all for a safe and happy season – have a totally ripping New Year of the Dragon!

Mobile Monday Global Events for Week of December 5th – 2011

a Strong Heart and Nerves of Steel – Viva Las Vegas – Viva Las Vegas!

As noted last week, your faithful Happy Bots are on a walk about so we’re gonna make this quick. Thrilled to bytes that Las Vegas officially gets underway with their debut slated for this evening at UNLV. Seems our late night meetings at Capos last spring – with heads of all five families – will finally cover the vig. We’re pretty bullish on that crew making an impact on the Vegas tech scene.. 8-)

Now, lets take a light-speed ride through Mobile Monday events scheduled around the globe today, starting in Belgrade for their #5 event in Serbia, Berlin calls legends and leaders on-stage to discuss the future of Mobile Gaming. Dubai is back to beat the sophomore jinx with their 2nd gathering since launch, with any luck we’ll see future events posted on their new website too. MoMo Dar-es-Salaam has data, mapping and gov. partnerships while Los Angeles runs the annual Mobile Excellence Awards.

As noted above Las Vegas launches tonight with mischief predicted at the Freakin Frog after-party, while Manchester gets a jump on St. Nick with an xmas good cheer mixer. Miami is focused on the timely topic of Mobile Giving December 5th and Paris hosts a group visiting from MoMo Beijing on Weds. the 7th for Asian Innovation night – great collaboration going there!

MoMo Richmond is booked for developer focused gig and Seattle does co-op with Xconomy Forum – Dec. 6th – on their Mobile Madness event. Toronto bears witness to the Launch of Ting by Tucows and Washington is a strategic affiliate and supporting organization for the mHealth Summit running from Dec. 5-7th. This weeks tour ends in Zurich, gathering in Bern, with a super m2m and Internet of Things agenda led by an impressive group of speakers.

Usually this would be the place where we insert some featured new members, or company profile, who recently joined the community. However, we have a jam packed schedule here on fantasy island this afternoon with kite-surfing nap, tennis massage and happy Happy hour by the pool! Trust you all can snoop around for the interesting tid-bits while we take this long overdue de-frag.

Happy Bots

PS Note: If you have recently established a new account here – but it’s not yet activated – no doubt ’someone’ will get that through the manual approval stage as possible.

Meanwhile, expect y’all play nicely together, try not to burn down the digital house, we’ll be back on the switch here at mission control in a couple weeks.. maybe.

Moving across to Frankfurt, they are on Monday, such meticulous attention to detail, with Mobile Ad Channel theme and down in Jakarta a strong speaker line-up explores a Million App Downloads, props to RIM.

The crew in Lagos has Get Techie 2.0 – it was nice, let’s do it twice – event scheduled on 11.28, and back in London apparently it will be sunshine & crumpets for Startups and SMEs. Meanwhile, Manila has the jolly, plumpy Man in Red – not to be confused with Lady in Red – ready to dish iPads candy to all the good little mobilistas there.. so you know the drill = better be good for goodness sake!

Melbourne deserves an entire paragraph to themselves – wOw. Their 2011 Mobile Industry Awards show is booked in at the super swank Spice Market venue with a long list of supporting partners and best-of-the-best players ready to rock & roll for some shiny hardware. Looking forward to post-event report and pix! Finally, rounding out this weeks world tour, Tokyo is throwing an open mixer for the in-bound delegation led by MoMo Vancouver organizers from Wavefront.. MOoseheads Beware.

As with past editions posted here, we have featured some of the new interesting members that recently joined our momo.net community. For a change, this week we’d like to pass along big shout out the the Grameen Foundation who just set-up their profile here, seems they need a Technology Manager to run LAC Applab project in Colombia. Anyway, that team has done some fantastic work, we’re thankful for their continued activities with our MoMo chapter in Kampala, Uganda. Cheers.

Otherwise – Don’t Forget our Mo’Challenge – now, we gotta pack some shorts and sunscreen!

The Mob Rulz – Oct. 31st – Tricks & Treats

Heard You Missed Us.. We’re Back!

Indeed, it’s been a full year now since we posted The Mob Rulz Flash Mag. and about time (finally) for an update here. As you might ‘imagine’ it’s a resource intensive effort to produce the old version of TMR, and since we’ve settled into our new mobilemonday.net digs, this has become the grand central station for Mobilista feeds and local MoMo chapter community connections.

And what a year it’s been.. while we could spill a few gallons of digital ink, perhaps best to have a quick skim over the Global Archives section, and for those more adventurous the Chapter News, to get a handle on activities these last 12 months. The always energetic Happy_Bots have been keeping track of our weekly events list, posting across FaceBookLinkedinTwitter as well, and now going forward the mystery metal-man will add snappy updates here too… whooah – did ya just feel that rush of excitement flowing across the inter-webs..?!? All agents encouraged to make Contact Requests 8-)

So, with that (tricky) brief sorted.. now wazzup? Funny, we usually see about 10 gatherings every week, but for this Oct. 31st 2011 debut edition it looks like only MoMo Munich will be open to all Mobsters! However, we note an ambitious schedule of Mobile Monday gigs the following week of November 7th and meanwhile wish you & your little spooks a fun, safe and bountiful Hallowed Eve.

Otherwise.. important heads-up, we do hope all will take note, for the annual MOvember campaign! Ya gotta like (hint) love this effort, so – Please – spread the news and support that most worthy cause.

Finally.. with respect to additional content bolt-on potential for this (ahem – wildly popular) space, we figured a dedicated Shout-Out to feature our fantastic members on the platform is in order. Therefore, always the gentleman, here’s some profile link-love for a few new ladies who have recently joined us: @samanthax @moventure @fasola @meganoxman @mixtmedia @irislouwerens @wkaiser @niyati @annakress @davinam @stacyjay @divindaiana @cellularity @meghilger @cluckhoff

Stay tuned here for more fun and – Hey – some Great Prizes too = Treats yo!

– Mobile Monday Global Team
