Mike Hamilton, Partner/Principal @ PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLC

Mike has more than 16 years of operational management experience to include financial analysis, strategic development, mergers and acquisitions, organizational development, and engineering management.

Prior to joining PRTM, Mike worked as an equity research analyst on Wall Street, where he covered the capital goods and engineering and construction industries. His responsibilities included evaluating economic, industry, and company conditions; proposing investment recommendations; and performing due diligence on all company filings. Mike was part of an award-winning team recognized by The Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street 2004 Analysts Survey” report.  As a naval officer, Mike was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal by the Secretary of Defense for exceptional duty .

Mike has worked in many different industries and has broad international business experiences that spans North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. He is fluent in English and Arabic.

Justin Langseth, President & CEO @ ZoomData

Justin is CEO of Zoomdata, Inc. Prior to Zoomdata, Justin was the co-founder of Clarabridge and the inventor of Clarabridge’s award-winning, patented, text analytics software.

Prior to Clarabridge, Justin co-founded and was CTO of Claraview, a BI strategy and technology consultancy, which was sold to Teradata in 2008. Before founding Claraview, Justin served as founder and CTO of Strategy.com, a real-time data analysis and alerting subsidiary of MicroStrategy.

Prior to launching Strategy.com, he was a technology program manager and consultant at MicroStrategy, designing the second-generation web-based BI tool for MicroStrategy, and working with large customers on their BI deployments.

In the early 1990’s Justin was active in the BBS community, and he authored and marketed the EIS-PC BBS system. Justin is an expert in text mining, specifically related to integration of unstructured content. He currently holds seven technology patents. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received an SB in Management of Information Technology from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Stephanie Bauer Marshall, Director, Precision Market Insights @ Verizon Wireless

Stephanie Bauer Marshall is the director of Precision Market Insights at Verizon Wireless, a business segment that Ms. Marshall incubated and launched in 2012.  This new business line focuses on providing brands with a variety of licensed and custom solutions, powered by layering behavioral audience insights based on mobile engagement, location, and demographic information.  Before launching Precision Market Insights, Ms. Marshall led Verizon Wireless’ mobile marketing and advertising group, where she launched the company’s first mobile web advertising programs.  Through Precision Marketing Insights, Ms. Marshall is continuing to drive the company’s mobile advertising strategy and launch new advertising and marketing products.

Prior to joining Verizon Wireless, Ms. Marshall was at Merchant Link, a subsidiary of J.P. Morgan Chase, where she was responsible for defining and marketing the company’s existing products and directing the strategy for new product creation. During her time at Merchant Link, Ms. Marshall developed a secure transactions product that was awarded a patent. Previously, Ms. Marshall spent nearly five years at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association’s (CTIA-The Wireless Association) in the Wireless Internet Development group. Ms. Marshall’s extensive experience also includes roles in client-side marketing, branding and creative development.

Active in the Mobile Marketing Association, Ms. Marshall helped create the industry’s mobile advertising and mobile coupon standards. She currently serves as on the MMA Board of Directors as well as the Internet Advertising Bureau’s Mobile Center of Excellence Board of Directors.

Ms. Marshall is also on the board of the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business Alumni Association. While at the Smith School, she co-founded and served as the first president of the Part-Time MBA Association, a student organization aimed at serving the needs of part-time students and improving the Smith community.

Ms. Marshall has a BA in Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics and Government from American University with international experience in trade relations at the Universitie catholique de Louvain in Brussels, Belgium. Ms. Marshall received her MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.

William Riley, Ph.D. - Chief, SRTB, Behavioral Research Program in the DCCPS, NCI, NIH

William (Bill) Riley, Ph.D. is chief of the Science of Research and Technology Branch, Behavioral Research Program in the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Riley’s research interests include behavioral assessment, psychosocial health risk factors, tobacco use/cessation, and the application of technology to preventive health behaviors and chronic disease management.

He has been interested in applying new technologies, particularly mobile and wireless technologies, in behavioral measurement and intervention, and the potential of these technologies to assess and intervene adaptively, in the context of the behavior, and with broad reach and scalability. His research has included the use of mobile phones and other mobile computer devices to assess and intervene on tobacco use, dietary intake, physical activity, sleep, and medication adherence. He also is interested in the application of engineering and computer science methodologies to the behavioral sciences.

Todd Radano – President at DecisionQ

Todd A. Radano is the President of DecisionQ Corporation, a recognized leader in the field of applied machine learning and inferential data analytics.  Founded over ten years ago, with more than sixty peer-reviewed publications and hundreds of patent claims, DecisionQ maintains robust practices in the life sciences, healthcare, national security, insurance, and consumer packaged goods sectors.

Mike is mobile and web professional turned entrepreneur. After 15+ years of product and marketing roles in some of the nation’s largest media and telecommunications companies, in 2012 Mike co-founded Core72, an outdoor and active wear apparel business. Located in Washington, D.C., Core72’s mission is to give people the equipment, information and inspiration to get out and explore the outdoors.

Prior to starting Core72, Mike was responsible for the management and expansion of the mobile and web product lines at SiriusXM Radio, extending SiriusXM’s award-winning content to digital platforms to drive subscriber and revenue growth and improve customer retention. In this role, Mike oversaw strategy, product design, development and marketing.

Prior to SiriusXM, Mike held several senior product management marketing and business development positions at Nextel and then Sprint Nextel. Sam von Pollaro – CEO & Founder @ Venga
Sam is the CEO of Venga, a customer relationship management system for restaurants based in Washington, DC. Sam has over a decade of experience in launching businesses and helping established companies resolve strategic, financial, and operational issues. Sam was previously the founder of Petals for the People, a business that revolutionized the sale and distribution of fresh cut flowers, which he sold to a Battery Ventures portfolio company less than 15 months after launch.

Julie Glickson Bethke – Design Director, Social Applications at Microstrategy

Julie has over 16 years of experience in all aspects of the design industry, with the past 10 focusing on product design. She joined MicroStrategy in 2011 to build and lead a new design team for an “internal startup” focusing on mobile social consumer applications—a new arena for the leading B2B business intelligence software provider. The Social Applications team has now built three main programs focusing on eCommerce, mobile identity and social intelligence for iOS, Android and web. Mobile-first, always.

Julie is a hands-on leader who continually guides the company on user experience, cross-functional team efficiencies, and industry trends.

Prior to MicroStrategy, Julie led the product design team for AIM at Aol. She also has broad range of agency experience with a focus on marketing, identity and web design.

Nancy Proctor – Head of Mobile Strategy & Initiatives at Smithsonian Institution

Nancy Proctor heads up mobile strategy and initiatives for the Smithsonian Institution, and is co-chair of the Museums and the Web annual conference. With a PhD in American art history and a background in filmmaking, curation and art criticism, Nancy Proctor published her first online exhibition in 1995. She co-founded TheGalleryChannel.com in 1998 with Titus Bicknell to present virtual tours of innovative exhibitions alongside comprehensive global museum and gallery listings. TheGalleryChannel was later acquired by Antenna Audio, where Nancy lead New Product Development from 2000-2008, introducing the company’s multimedia, sign language, downloadable, podcast and cellphone tours. She also directed Antenna’s sales in France from 2006-2007, and worked with the Travel Channel’s product development team. From 2008-2010 she was Head of New Media at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Nancy served as program chair for the Museums Computer Network (MCN) conference 2010-2011, and co-organizes the Tate Handheld conference among other gatherings for cultural professionals. She also manages MuseumMobile.info, its wiki and podcast series, and is Digital Editor of Curator: The Museum Journal.


Richard Smith – Co-Founder & CTO at Open Path Products

Richard Smith is the CTO and co-founder of OpenPath Products, one of the most experienced mobile development and conversion companies in the world.  A wireless technology veteran, Richard began his career in the software gaming industry in the late eighties and then moved on to multimedia development, where he wrote several award winning CD-ROM applications.  Prior to co-founding OpenPath in 2001, he provided director-level research and development services to two technology companies where he received multiple wireless patents.   For the past twelve years he has provided technical strategic and operational direction to OpenPath Products and their clients.


Tom Anderson – Senior BlackBerry Developer Evangelist at BlackBerry

Tom started his career in 1986 with Microsoft Corporation where he was a Program Manager on such products as Windows 3.11, Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, and Internet Explorer. He was also the creator of the Windows Resource Kit which began that product line. In addition, Tom presented at many trade shows and gave technical presentations with the Microsoft Executive Staff. He left Microsoft in 1995 to form Three Points Consulting with Marianne Reid Anderson and Bob Taniguchi. Three Points focused on bringing the power of the emerging internet technology to everyday life. Tom’s innovative technology solutions played a key role in the successful acquisition of Three Points by TechRx. At TechRx, he acted in the role of CTO until it was acquired by NDC Health of Atlanta, Georgia. In 2004, Tom decided to become a High School Teacher as his primary method of giving back to the community. In 2005 he joined the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School (PA CYBER) where he was awarded the Keystone Award for Innovative Use of Technology in the Class Room. During this time, he also earned a Master’s degree in Software Design through Capella University. In 2009, in addition to teaching, Tom returned to software development creating various web and mobile applications.

Brad Pool is a Product Manager for Verizon Enterprise Services. He has 7 years of experience in the M2M industry focused on launching end to end M2M solutions.

Most recently Brad has built solutions for the transportation vertical focusing on Fleet and Asset tracking, with the goal of increasing CDMA market penetration in these key verticals. By bringing together innovative devices, best in class wireless networks and industry leading applications, VES provides customers with powerful solutions to tough business challenges.

Brad has held positions as an M2M Open Development Manager at both Verizon and Sprint. Brad holds a BBA degree in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University.

Brian Langel – Co-Founder & CTO of Dash

Over 10 years of experience in front and back end development for both mobile and web, including Java, Objective C, as well as firmware development.

As a Technical Manager at HBO, he worked on the deployment of HBO GO, as well as the software for boxing’s PunchForce technology; prior experience includes app dev for Union Pacific and McGraw Hill, as well as founding Ocheyedan LLC for wildlife tracking with hardware/software solutions.

Jeff Jenkins – Chief Operating Officer @ APX Labs

Jeff Jenkins is an entrepreneur and co-founder of APX Labs where he currently occupies the role of Chief Operating Officer.  With its start developing biometric “Terminator Vision” software for military smart glasses, APX is a company dedicated to the mission of developing software products that enable emerging smart glasses to be truly effective in delivering contextually relevant, real-time, hands-free content. Jeff is one of the innovators behind the inception of truAR, an OS shell built to enable compelling augmented reality experiences in smart glasses by providing not only the run-time device experience, but also exposing robust APIs to third-party developers.  Jeff brings over 15 years of software engineering experience to APX having worked previously to bring rapidly deployable vehicle-mounted cellular towers to the U.S. military as Director of Core Networks at Battlefield Telecommunications Systems and having engaged with a multitude of Fortune 500 companies in past enterprise software engineering consulting.

Jordan Jakubovitz – Associate Product Marketing Manager @ OPOWER

Jordan works on the Marketing and Strategy team at Opower, a provider of energy efficiency and customer engagement solutions for more than 80 utility companies in the US and around the world. He currently leads product marketing for Opower’s mobile solutions, and specifically focuses on understanding market requirements and communicating Opower’s product vision. Before taking on mobile, Jordan focused on marketing for Opower’s web products, where he launched Opower’s new Social application. Prior to joining Opower, Jordan worked on Capitol Hill for Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Jeff Merkley. He has a BA from Emory University.

Patricia Mechael - Executive Director of the mHealth Alliance

Patty has been actively involved in global health for 15 years with field experience in over 30 countries, primarily in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. She has worked with a broad range of institutions on research, program design and implementation, strategic planning and policy development for mHealth and eHealth initiatives, as well as reproductive health and women’s health and rights. Patty has a Masters in International Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and Hygiene and a PhD in Public Health and Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she specifically examined the role of mobile phones in relation to health in Egypt. Prior to joining the mHealth Alliance, she was Director of Strategic Application of Mobile Technology for Public Health and Development at the Center for Global Health and Economic Development at the Earth Institute. She is also faculty at the School of International and Public Affairs and Earth Institute, Columbia University.
