Guest speaker: Matthew Kwan, Vivatel
The vast majority of 3G phones have the ability to make video calls, but it is a rarely-used feature. The reasons for the low utilization are poor ergonomics and not knowing if the receiving party is willing or able to take a video call.
But as a means to access audio-visual interactive content from a mobile phone, the video call mechanism is ideal. Matthew Kwan will explain how Vivatel has developed a platform for hosting content accessible via video calls, and how it links with Telstra's new 1900 video call service to provide a revenue model for content providers.
