Please, No iPhone in Taiwan!!! - How GUI is trapping your customers.
Recently, Google showed off a “revitalized” version of Android, which is starting to look a little (more) like the iPhone. The "refreshed" Android SDK has a User Interface that features "smooth, animated transitions." Sounds familiar?
Both Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android OS focus on the User Interface to provide a unique - and addictive - user experience. Indeed, most people are loyal to a U.I. (or “trapped” in a U.I.) once they have adopted it. Today a link between the phone itself and the User, the U.I. is likely to become the link between a service offer and the User (think iTunes, Gmail, etc.).
This month, MobileMonday Taipei is inviting two U.I. experts, working for two different leading handset manufacturers in Taiwan. They will share their insights on how strategic the user interface is becoming to handset manufacturers, operators and Internet champions (Microsoft, Google, Yahoo!), and exchange on the latest trends in U.I. in terms of usability and user experience.
