Founder of MiXT Media Strategies , Maxine is a strategy consultant with over 15 years of success employing digital principles to develop new businesses, build communities, and expand distribution for corporations, non-profits and government agencies.MiXT Media Strategies helps clients improve mission efficiency and effectiveness by rethinking traditional approaches and implementing innovative solutions. In her most recent work with the U.S. Department of Defense, Maxine developed and co-authored the Web 2.0/social networking policy for the Chief Information Officer, conceptualized and launched the Emerging Media Directorate, and secured distribution for the Pentagon Channel in 12 million homes. Maxine has also led a number of cross-agency initiatives that reduced duplicative projects and processes. Maxine is a thought leader in the Government 2.0, collaboration and social media discourse. She conceptualized and produced Gov 2.0 Camp, the first unconference that convened Government 2.0 leaders to share best practices. Her blog, MiXT Media, explores the intersection of media, innovation, communication, society and technology. She presents regularly at conferences and participates in social network discussions. Before the Web 2.0 renaissance, Maxine advised media companies on business strategy, distribution and marketing. Clients companies have included XM Satellite Radio, Comcast Cable, The HealthCentral Network and Freewebs. Prior to founding MiXT Media Strategies, Maxine directed strategy and business development at Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, managed and grew the USATODAY.com account for interactive agency marchFIRST, co-founded startup StockGift.com and led global client teams through strategic innovation initiatives at IdeaScope Associates. Maxine holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a BA in sociology from Brandeis University. She resides in Washington, DC with her husband and two children. |
