Finnish push mail for Swedes 3 Scandinavia chooses Ericsson’s EMO
Ericsson has been selected by 3 Scandinavia to provide the Ericsson Mobile Organizer (EMO), Ericsson’s solution for push e-mail. EMO allows 3 Scandinavia’s business customers to access e-mail, contacts and calendar conveniently while on the move.
3 Scandinavia is the first operator in Sweden to introduce Ericsson’s push e-mail solution. Ericsson will host the service under a managed services contract, allowing 3 Scandinavia to launch the new service quickly and easily in a cost effective way. A friendly user pilot is to begin immediately.
EMO is based on Finnish Smartner’s mobile email program. In October 2004 Smartner and Ericsson signed a global OEM licensing agreement enabling Ericsson to use Smartner Duality as a basis for new Ericsson Mobile Organizer (EMO) for its global operator and enterprise customers. Last year American Seven purchased Smartner.
EMO offers easy-to-use access to email, contacts and calendar updates that are automatically delivered to the user via the 3G network. E-mail attachments can be downloaded, read and edited. Ericsson’s hosted enterprise solution offers simplicity, openness, security and low total cost of ownership for the operator. EMO works on a wide range of terminals and installation and maintenance are designed to be as simple as possible.
