Umniah order fixed and mobile versions Airspan to build WiMAX network in Jordania

Airspan Networks has been chosen to build a nationwide WiMAX network for the Jordanian carrier Umniah, a subsidiary of the Batelco Group. Airspan will supply fixed and mobile WiMAX solutions.

Umniah is developing a nationwide network to provide fixed and mobile WiMAX services to commercial and residential customers.

Under the terms of the deal Airspan will supply its HiperMAX base stations, indoor and outdoor subscriber terminals.

Umniah will use the new network to launch its voice, data and high-speed Internet service over its existing wireless network. Airspan's WiMAX solution will enable Umniah to offer a bundle of voice and data services, with the addition of mobile WiMAX by software upgrade from the same platform.
