Autodesk and BEA Systems deliver location services
California based Autodesk Location Services, a division of Autodesk, Inc. and BEA Systems, Inc., one of the world’s leading application infrastructure software companies, will jointly offer location-sensitive wireless data services to carriers.
The two companies have been working together to integrate their technologies to create a highly scalable architecture for location-based services. Autodesk is using the J2EE-compliant BEA WebLogic in its location platform to manage the scalability, transaction processing, and application server needs of a wireless operator’s complex environment.
“While we have already made significant inroads into the wireless marketplace, and have a significant presence in the communications space, we feel that teaming with Autodesk Location Services further positions BEA to gain momentum in this market as operators increasingly appreciate an end-to-end, well-conceived, and well-executed strategic solution for wireless data services,” said Scott Edgington of BEA Systems.
The Autodesk LocationLogic platform integrates core content and applications, as well as middle-tier administrative services for billing, provisioning, map rendering, profile management and content management. The integrated platform also incorporates a set of application programming interfaces and templates that provide access to the platform and accelerated development for outsourced application providers. Autodesk LocationLogic also offers a set of interface options including XML, SOAP, Java, UDDI.
