SR Telecom announces multi-million dollar order Cameroon to build WiMax network

Montreal-based SR Telecom & Co. S.E.C, has announced it will provide Canada-based Airtel Telecom Group (ATG) with symmetryMXsolutions to support the growing demands for carrier-class wireless services in Central and Western Africa.

Airtel plans to extend its WiMAX network rapidly by using SR Telecom's symmetryMXplatform. This purchase will support the deployment of one hundred base stations throughout Cameroon, allowing the operator to offer premium triple-play services to enterprise and residential subscribers. The rollout is expected to begin in December, 2008 with a targeted completion of July, 2009.

SR Telecom also announced that PT Leenar Capital Indonesia / LCI (a privately held Indonesian company) has selected SR Telecom's symmetryMX product to provide broadband wireless access service throughout Indonesia.
