Central Tennessee gets wireless E911

Wireless emergency location services are spreading in the U.S. under pressure from Federal Communications Commission.

Advantage Cellular Systems' entire subscriber base in rural central Tennessee is now covered by wireless emergency location service.

TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. has completed deployment of wireless E911 location service that supports the FCC mandated Phase I approximate location. Later on the company will provide Phase II precise location support to Advantage Cellular Systems.

TCS provides the wireless location technology infrastructure and service components via its Xypoint Location Platform that enable wireless carriers to meet their Phase I and II regulatory obligations under the FCC's E9-1-1 order with either TCS-hosted or carrier-operated solutions.
