Nokia E62 for USD 30 Cingular making room for iPhone?
Samsung Blackjack for Cingular.
Cingular, the largest American mobile service provider, might be clearing its warehouse to make room for the anticipated Apple’s iPhone, speculates RCR Wireless News.
Cingular last week dropped the price on three smartphones, including the carrier-branded (HTC-made) 8125 to USD 100 (from USD 200), the Samsung BlackJack to USD 150 (from USD 200) and the Nokia E62 to USD 30 (from USD 70). These prices are tied to service contracts.
Carriers routinely deflect questions on handset pricing. Cingular may well be clearing inventory of popular smartphones in anticipation of Apple Inc.’s iPhone, due to appear on shelves in June.
