Maxdox Mobile Publisher Max makes rumpus with free software
Max Rumpus Ltd announced Monday its second generation Maxdox Mobile Publisher software. The company also is distributing the software for free unlimited non-commercial and academic use.
Maxdox enables web and graphic designers to produce publications for the visual mobile media channel. The latest release includes further graphical tools, support for the Mac OSX operating system and released the Maxdox Mobile Publisher Personal
“Although there is a mobile device in everyone’s hand, so many creative people have been without the freedom to design for the mobile world.” says Mika Huhtamäki product visionary and CTO of Max Rumpus.
Maxdox Mobile Publisher software produces multi-handset publications that combine elements like images, text, animations, sound and phone actions. These mobile publications do not need a special reader application on the phone to display. Maxdox Mobile Publications use Java that for several years has been standard in most manufacturers phone models.
“Maxdox is a fresh option that is different from Power Point, Flash and PDF because it is specifically designed from the ground up not only for the challenges of mobile handsets but also the needs of someone designing visual content for the best experience on many different phones”, says Tero Kalsta, Max Rumpus CEO.
Max Rumpus Ltd., headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, derives its name children’s book “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak. The company web site explains:
“Agonizing over the potential name of the company and having turned to the Finnish/English dictionary for inspiration, they found the word “kohu” which is Finnish for “rumpus or sensation”. This brought back memories of the story, the main character Max and his “wild rumpus” with the monsters in the forest.”
