Sign MOU in Helsinki MobileMonday and Hong Kong WTIA start cooperation
Finnish and Hong Kong mobile industry representatives Thursday signed a cooperation agreement in Helsinki. The signing ceremony was witnessed by John Tsang, the Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology.
- This is a very good beginning for larger and more active cooperation between our mobile industries. We can learn much from the well developed mobile field of Finland, Tsang said.
Finland and Hong Kong have an opportunity to create mobile platforms for wide markets, according to Tsang, the head of the visiting trade delegation.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by John Chiu, the chairman of Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association WTIA and Jari Tammisto, CEO of Mobile Monday Oy.
Hong Kong WTIA has cooperation agreements with several national organizations. According to Chiu, this has helped to create a commercial representation for Canadian mobile companies in Hong Kong. Another form of cooperation available to partners is testing of applications and product for the Asian mobile environment in the Hong Kong testing center.
While visiting FinPro, The Hong Kong delegation met also representatives of Finnish mobile and networking companies: Arto Sahla of SysOpen Digia, Minna Häkkinen of Satama Interactive and Panu Mustonen of game developing program Neogames.
