Harry’s Bar overcrowded MobileMonday hits a sweet spot in Singapore
The inaugural MobileMonday Singapore event was a success. Well over one hundred people crowded the Harry’s Bar suitable for about one hundred, reports Mobile Monday Oy CEO Jari Tammisto.
According to Tammisto the event was very well received. The audience found presentations interesting and networking continued till late hours.
Participants included people from NTT DoCoMo leadership from Japan, regional managers from Nokia as well as from mobile operators Starhub, SingTel Mobile and Mobile One, Yahoo Asia Pacific, Starcut, Open Mobile, Mobile365, Gartner, Philips, Finpro, Logica, Seven, Reuters, BBC, Mobile World, Nemo Technologies and Meridea among others.
The evening was open by Yahoo Asia Pacific regional manager Chris Chandler and MC’d by Tim Charlton, editor-in-chief, Charlton Media Group.
Jari Tammisto brought an international greeting.
The actual presentation were given by Irene Chan, Nokia APAC, “Voice goes mobile and IP”; Scott Sproule, Purple Ace, “Challenges in setting up a Mobile company in Singapore” and Tian Ung Ping, StarHub, “i-mode mobile Internet service.”
Jari Tammisto signed, in behalf of Mobile Monday Oy, on Friday a memorandum of understanding with Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation. Signing took place in the presence of Finland’s and Singapore’s ministers of trade and industry.
