Yahoo unveils mobile service offering Motorola to incorporate Google’s and Yahoo’s search

Motorola announced on Thursday plans to include easy access to Google’s search engine from its Web-enabled handsets. The world’s number two mobile phone maker will also be expanding its Internet search capabilities with Yahoo’s upcoming mobile search and content offering, Yahoo Go Mobile.

Motorola’s Google-enabled handsets with will be available in the first quarter of 2006. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Motorola and Nokia to pre-install Yahoo’s mobile service

Yahoo Go Mobile, launched Friday at the International Consumer Electronics Show, makes the search giant’s Web content and service offerings available to mobile terminals over WLAN and mobile networks. Music and video services will be added later, company officials said. Currently, Yahoo Go Mobile works only on Series 60 platforms.

The Yahoo Go application is downloadable for free at Yahoo’s Web site. According to Yahoo, Nokia will also be pre-installing the Yahoo Go program on select mobile devices.
