10 000 mobile content sites NetVillage launches mobile search in China

Japan-based NetVillage announced on last week that it has made “uucun” mobile search available through its subsidiary Shanghai NetVillage. Developed by the subsidiary, the uucun search engine allows users to search for mobile content available in China by entering a keyword or a sequence of numbers from their PC or mobile phone. The search engine also supports direct access to mobile content from search results. All the services are available for free. Also PC users can view mobile content using Shanghai NetVillage’s own browser. There are more than 300 million mobile phone users in China, and the number of mobile Internet users is expected to reach 35 million by year-end. With more than 10 000 mobile content sites in China, demand for easily browsing mobile sites has been increasing, reports JCN.
