Ready for Spring Festival season Nokia expands GSM in Jiangxi

Nokia is expanding the GSM networks and services of Chinese operator Jiangxi Mobile Communications Co. Ltd (Jiangxi MCC). Deliveries have already begun and the network expansion is expected to be completed during first quarter 2005.

” This expansion will improve coverage and capacity and enable us to continue offering our customers advanced mobile services. In particular it will help us meet the tremendous surge in demand for capacity during the coming Spring Festival holiday season,” says Huang Rigao, General Manager of Jiangxi MCC.

Under the agreement, Nokia will supply its GSM core and radio-access network infrastructure. In addition to network equipment, Nokia provides an extensive range of services including planning and implementation meeting the customer’s needs for fast ramp-up and high service availability.
