Bigger than life camera phone pictures Nokia puts Torontoans on big screen

Nokia is promoting its camera phones in Toronto, Canada by broadcasting photos onto a huge screen in the city center. Using the Nokia 3220 and the Nokia 6225 camera phones people in Dundas Square Nokia team is photographing passers-by and sending their photos to seven giant video boards at Dundas Square and other highly visible downtown Toronto areas.

“These days, mobile phones are about so much more than voice communication,” said Grace Belmonte, Director of Marketing, Nokia Products Ltd. “With the Say Hello Toronto program, Nokia is showcasing one of the many creative uses of mobile capabilities like picture and video messaging.”

Once a photo is taken using a Nokia phone, it is then posted within the hour on the giant video boards located in the bustling city areas of Dundas Square, Yonge and Richmond, Yonge and St Mary’s and on Yonge Street at Sam the Record Man. Nokia says that it is the first cellular phone manufacturer to engage in an initiative of this type in North America.

The Say Hello Toronto picture teams will be on site in Dundas Square from December 20 through to December 24. Pictures taken from previous November sessions and from the December sessions will be shown from 3pm to 11pm from now to January 2, 2005
