Demo at CTIA Wireless Nortel and Sonim push PoC

Sonim Technologies, a mobile VoIP provider demonstrated its push-to-talk solution with Nortel at CTIA Wireless in New Orleans in mid March. With Sonim’s fully IMS-compliant application solution, Nortel can offer wireless operators a next generation Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) solution that is pre-integrated, Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) standards compliant. “This integration helps round out Nortel’s Converged Multimedia Services solution by addressing Push-To-Talk applications and does so by tapping into an experienced Push-To-Talk over Cellular supplier,” said Ken Rehbehn, Principal Analyst for Wireless Infrastructure at Current Analysis. “As one of the earliest participants in the OMA PTT efforts, Sonim brings expertise in both server and handset Push-To-Talk technologies - helping Nortel offer a compelling, off-the-shelf application that delivers on the promise of IMS.”
