Group blogging for mobile users Sendandsee extends Mobiprint product range
Sendandsee LLC - the publisher of the world’s first mobile magazines and developer of mobiprint publisher, a mobile publishing toolkit, introduces today an extension to its digital media mobilization product line - Mobiprint modular.
Mobiprint modular is a solution that consists of modules that add different sets of functionalities on top of publishing of visually compelling information.
current modules include credit card -payment implementation, mobile video services -interface development, service discovery tool -development, customer service functionality deployment, and enterprise use –functionality which includes Nokia Communicator 9300/9500 and SonyEricsson P800/P910i-support.
Sendandsee’s decision to split its mobiprint product is proactive and is based on the developments within the “next-generation mobile services”-market, the company says.
Mobiprint publisher focuses solely on the needs of content and rights owners and publishers that want to enter the mobile services market with mobile versions of their existing media assets. Mobile magazines published with mobiprint publisher can be viewed with practically all Java and Symbian-handsets.
The magazines are also technically BREW-handset compatible but have not yet been put through the entire TRUE BREW test process.
Mobiprint modular enables fast and cost-efficient development and implementation of different types of advanced mobile services.
Pick’n choose
”This new approach makes it easier for our customers to select their strategy for their mobile media market entry. Instead of wondering what technologies or platforms to choose, they can decide on fast deployment of services that are aligned with their current business strategies, says Aape Pohjavirta, Sendandsee’s founder.
Functionality modules in Mobiprint modular include all functionalities “expected” in a mobile interfacing solution in today’s market. Credit card-payments, inclusion of video and music streams, customer service functions [open call, send messages etc.] enable the development of virtually any kind of advanced mobile services.
An interesting, completely new functionality set is in the “Mobile Group Blogging”-module that enables users of camera-equipped handsets to take images from where they are and directly upload them to an image gallery that can be viewed by other users simultaneously.
The recent success of www-sites where users upload their own images for others to view and comment has come as a great surprise to many. Such services show that virtual communities do have a future, and that visual content seems to be the driving force in their development. In Finland, the currently biggest www-site by far is irc-galleria.net that emerged out of nowhere.
Moblogging
”We are currently discussing the implementation of this type of services with publishers of travel and city guides and internet service providers offering similar services on the web – we’ll see what will happen on the mobile side of this ‘social blogging’” says Jussi Lystimäki, Sendandsee’s Vice President for Partners.
Another important new feature in the complete mobiprint-product line is the automated conversion of content created in Adobe Acrobat -format for mobile handsets. This new feature will accelerate the implementation of mobiprint into existing content creation and production processes.
