Cosmo TV and Dubai City Guide publish with Mobiprint Sendandsee wants to become a Mobile-TV interface

Finnish mobile publishing technology developer Sendandsee has signed up new customers. The mobile media market is really happening, says the company.

The mobile service for Cosmo TV has been developed in close co-operation with Sendandsee’s partner in Spain - 4OneSolutions and Cosmopolitan Television, Iberia.

The service acts as an extension of the network’s programming into the mobile space, giving the users the ability to access programming and promotion information, and read background information of the broadcasted shows and latest news from the worlds of entertainment and fashion.

“Services like this will become more important in the future when convergence of media consumption becomes reality,” says Pablo Stürzer from 4onesolutions.

The Cosmo TV-service is implemented using Mobiprint technology and will be marketed and distributed in co-operation with several cross-media partners in Spain.

“Technology implementations like Cosmo TV are very intriguing, as in our view the much discussed and hyped ‘Mobile TV’ is a natural evolution from such services,” says Mikko Haikala, Director at Sendandsee.

“With our Mobiprint architecture being open to all types of content we see no reason why we could not be the user interface of Mobile TV whether DVB-H or MediaFLO wins the technology war.”

Location advertising coming

The Dubai City Guide service is intended to serve as a mobile extension of the complete information offering on the portal. The information within the publication is selected to serve the rapidly growing number of tourists and expatriates in Dubai.

“Development and deployment of advanced mobile services that take advantage of the very modern telecommunications infrastructure in our market is especially important to us, as we want to leverage our physical presence [Axiom Shops] in the market as a distribution channel addressing people visiting the area or who have recently moved to Dubai,” says Rafique Khan of Axiom Telecom.

The Dubai City Guide service was developed in co-operation with Axiom Telecom and Cyber-Gear, it uses Mobiprint technology and will be marketed and distributed through different channels in Dubai.

“Dubai City Guide is a service that enables us to implement different types of technologies in the future. Location-based searches and advertising are functionalities that are on the roadmap, but as with all new mobile services, the primary focus after the launch is set on ramping-up the number of active users,” says Kimmo Herranen, Director at Sendandsee.
