Ten months late T-Mobile USA to launch its 3G
T-Mobile USA Inc. plans to officially launch its 3G network starting this coming week. Two years ago the company paid USD 4.2 billion for advanced wireless services (AWS) spectrum in the Federal Communications Commission’s Auction.
Although T-Mobile USA has spent the past two years quietly building its W-CDMA network and device lineup,
The carrier plans to report progress on its 3G rollout beyond New York. It will also reveal details regarding devices that will support the network.
T-Mobile USA announced in 2006 that it planned to spend around USD 2.6 billion building its 3G network. Originally the company was planning to start commercial service almost a year ago.
