^{Bulgarian customs officers caught on site} US ambassador catches thieves with GPS

US ambassador left his phone on a tray during security check on Friday morningat Bulgarian Varna airport. He forgot to fetch the phone and went on board. He discovered that his phone was missing before his flight left.

But the phone was nowhere to be found. Ambassador John Beyrle realized that his phone has a GPS receiver, as did his laptop computer.

The ambassador powered up his computer and was able to locate the phone in the pocket of a Bulgarian customs official.

Two customs officers from Varna airport will end up in court for the theft, local newspaper TRUD reported Sunday.
