VimpelCom, the second largest mobile operator in Russia, today announced its financial and operating results for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2006.

For the full year 2006 net operating revenues reached USD 4,868 million, an increase of 51.6 percent as compared with 2005. OIBDA reached USD 2,451.8 million; OIBDA margin was 50.4 percent, an all-time record for the company.

Net income totaled USD 811.5 million, an increase of 31.9 percent as compared with 2005.

Operating cash flow was USD 1,971 million; leading to the first ever positive free cash flow of USD 459 million.

Entering into the markets of Uzbekistan, Georgia and Armenia increased the population in the territories covered by VimpelCom’s license portfolio to 240 million.

The company says, that its subscriber base grew to approximately 55.1 million as of December 31, 2006, including 7.0 million in the CIS countries outside of Russia.
