^{Member #285} Yomi joins Open Mobile Alliance

Yomi, a Finnish software company focusing on telecom ICT systems, has joined Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) as supporting member.

OMA is a consortium of the world's leading mobile operators, device and network suppliers, information technology companies, and content providers that have joined forces, with the common goal to remove barriers to interoperability and to accelerate the development and adoption of new technologies.

"OMA has already taken significant steps in consolidating the multiple and overlapping standards bodies and specifications forums into one industry body," said Kari Valkonen, VP Telecom, Yomi Solutions Ltd.

"We look forward to the future progress as the alliance drives the implementation of open service enablers and interface standards, architecture and technology enablers, through a user-centric approach. It will certainly stimulate the fast and wide adoption of a variety of new, enhanced mobile information and communication solutions".

For Yomi, this is a part of its strategy to strengthen its capability to produce open and interoperable solutions and services for the mobile market.
