Chinese handwriting Zi comes with new interface to 3GSM
Zi Corporation, whose technology empowers more than 103 million mobile devices worldwide, will unveil its latest suite of product advancements at next month’s 3GSM World Congress in Cannes. According to the Zi release, the company plans to show at its stand a revolutionary new product that will radically change handset usability and drive consumer uptake of data services. The latest versions of its flagship eZiText and award-winning eZiTap predictive text input products with new languages; and the recently acquired Decuma handwriting recognition interface for Chinese, Japanese and alphabetic languages. Zi’s says that its new interface solution helps wireless users access the full-breadth of applications and services of today’s increasingly advanced, feature-rich devices. Users can now take advantage of more handset applications and operator services – like MMS, mobile browsing and other data-centric services – all in a way that is quick and easy. Zi’s product portfolio now includes more than 40 different language databases, an additional 70 language interfaces and the ability to meet texting needs in more than 130 countries. Last week Zi announced that it has completed the previously announced acquisition of assets from handwriting recognition software specialists Decuma AB of Lund, Sweden. As part of the acquisition, Zi has acquired the intellectual property and customer agreements of privately held Decuma AB. The purchase price was approximately USD 1.0 million paid in newly issued shares of Zi Corporation common stock.Related News
