Mobile Monday Beijing #28 | Shanzhaiji (山寨机) | Presentations
Posted on: May 12, 2009 – Filed under: Beijing
Yesterday’s session on “Shanzhaiji” provided insights about what is likely the most important disruptive force in China’s handset market right now, and spreading to other developing markets.
Contrary to popular belief, the phones are not necessarily “knock-offs” of famous brands, as they are (quite literally) unlicensed creative electric devices. For instance we own a very genuine mobile-phone-electric-shaver (by “Shave Mobile”).
For the silent majority who could not attend the energetic session yesterday among 100 friends, as well as the participants who want to revive memories of the excitement, you will find below the presentations of our two speakers and the short introduction to the session.
