MobileMonday London is once again coming to Brighton!

Thanks to our kind host, mLife, we are running an event on the burgeoning topic of open data and how it relates to mobile innovation and “mobile government.”

…The details are:
27th of October 2010, 19:30hrs at the Grand Hotel, Brighton
NOTE: later starting time than usual.

Topic: Open Data / Mobile Government

Host: Mobile Life Conferences – www.m4life.org

Panel Description:
How is the Open Data movement in government (as evidenced by data.gov.uk, data.gov and data.london.gov.uk) creating more opportunities for mobile innovation in bringing government data and services to mobile users? What is the open data ecosystem and what does it mean for mobile entrepreneurs? What are some of the challenges with mobile data and how have early adopters dealt with those challenges? What’s happening in government to expand these initiatives and what are the challenges there? We will explore these issues and more with a panel of experts from government and industry.

Panelists: Daniel Appelquist (Chair), MobileMonday London and Vodafone Group R&D, Phil Archer. Consultant at Talis Group Ltd, and others (TBA).

Registration as usual is free and is open on our Web site here:

mLife is hosting us on the 27th because they are running a multi-day conference on the 27th through 29th in the same venue, the “Mobile Life” conference. In addition to sponsoring us on the evening of the 27th, they have kindly agreed to offer our members a discounted registration to their conference (see the bottom of this message for details). The program looks great, and I encourage you to take them up on this offer and attend the conference. If you do so, however, you still must separately register for MobileMonday at the link above.
