Mobile Monday Kampala is pleased to announce that its next meeting, on the theme, One Year: How Do You See Mobile Apps for Uganda in 2011?, will be hosted by Google Uganda, located at Soliz House, 4th Floor, Lumumba Avenue, Monday 28th February starting at 5:30 PM. Please click here to register or visit our facebook page for more updates

It’s been one year since we held our Inaugural MoMo Kampala meeting on The Future of Broadband in Uganda, hosted by Orange Uganda. We are celebrating our first year as a MoMo chapter. We have another extraordinary speakers’ panel lined up to present topical issues and how they are being met with mobile applications, to be discussed by you, our switched on MoMoers, during the Q&A session and informal networking over snacks and refreshments. This will be our first meeting in the new year, and we expect lots of new opportunities to be created for each of you who participate, new beginnings!

Master of Ceremonies Simon Kaheru from SMS Media, whose insightful and entertaining presentation some of you will remember from our inaugural event, will chair the panel of speakers, each of whom will give us a view to future trends in mobile applications based on their own experiences: Michael Niyitegeka, from Makerere University’s CIT, where his students have enjoyed preparing for discussions-com lectures by podcasts he supplies from Stanford University; Denis Ruhero, on his experiences working with developers and clients as Director for D-Mark, with the aim simply to simplify; Elijah Kitaka, coming from the company of our hosts, will give us a Google eye view to the future of mobile Google Apps; Mountbatten Director, Drupal expert and pusher for local talent, Reinier Battenberg, will tell of his recent discoveries working with UgandaWatch, keeping an eye on the recent elections. We delegates will be expected to provide grist for the mill, stimulating discussion, so please feel free to rock the boat and rattle the cages; a splendid time is guaranteed for all.

We may have a nice surprise for you at our One Year meeting, so watch this space, keep your ear to the ground. I look forward to seeing you next Monday.
