We have Two scheduled events running on 20th of June
In the afternoon, one as part of the Mobile Monday Competence Center on ANDROID;
This training session is part of the Mobile Monday competence center, a training program for developers during office hours. The purpose is to get to know the platforms and technology or to improve your skills as a developer. The participants are professional developers, independent or working at a tech company. The focus is on helping developers on a technology level but also to connect them with other developers and share their knowledge and questions.
Prerequisites:
- bring your laptop/smarthphone/tablet
- install needed tools

- Introduction to Google Android coding by Steven Palmaers
- User experience cases by Joris de Sutter

In the evening a regular MobileMonday event; this time in panel format and with great speakers and demo on the ‘Future of Voice and SMS’ details below:
Important changes occur in mobile applications like voice calls and SMS: Skype was acquired by Microsoft, free VOIP services make big noise (Viber, TruPhone for example), Group SMS applications (Fastsociety, GroupME) emerge, and in Belgium, Mondial Telecom launched its “BeCherry” Application, allowing users to have free wifi to wifi mobile conversations including handover to the GSM network when loosing the wifi.
What will be the evolution of Voice and SMS in the near future? What are the challenges for the established operators or the opportunities for the different challengers? We want to debate this with you! Mobile Monday organizes a panel around the “Future of Voice and SMS” with various actors in this domain on June 20th.
