BlackBerry PlayBook Developer Challenge

The 2011 BlackBerry Developer Challenge for Best Flash/AIR Mobile App for BlackBerry PlayBook is now open and accepting submissions for the competition in the challenge. The challenge focuses on finding the best apps by quality, innovation, creativity and compelling user experience.
Prizes: The challenge is bigger and better this year, with fantastic prizes. Win more prizes as the same application can be submitted to the Developer Challenge being organized at both the global and India regional levels:
* Prizes at India Regional level:
o First 10 winners will receive one BlackBerry PlayBook each
o Next 10 winners will receive one BlackBerry Smartphone each
o Free pass for one representative to attend the contest winner announcement and felicitation ceremony at AFPS 2011
* Prizes at Global level: this year prizing is valued at USD $3 million; further details can be found here
Timeline: Both newly developed and existing applications are eligible to compete in the contest. Applications for the competition must be completed and submitted within the following dates.
For India Regional level Developer Challenge:
* 30 May – 15 July 2011: the duration of the competition
* 16 July – 26 July 2011: winner selection
* 27-29 July 2011: winner announcement
For Global Level Developer Challenge:
* 28 April – 12 Aug 2011: the duration of the competition
* 30 September 2011: winner selection
Judging: Submissions will be judged by a panel of experts from Research In Motion Limited and Adobe Sytems. Submissions will be judged based on:
* Quality and use of development best practices
* User experience
* Level of visual appeal
* Creativity and innovation
How to Enter
Step 1: First register here and be accepted by Research In Motion Limited as a BlackBerry App World Vendor. Registered App World vendors will have a valid e-mail ID to log into App World.
Step 2a: Sign up for the India-specific Best Flash/AIR Mobile App for BlackBerry PlayBook competition here.
Step 2b: Submit the same application to the global 2011 BlackBerry® Developers Challenge. Find more details here.
Step 3: Once your application is ready you should submit it to the BlackBerry App World, using the Vendor credentials you created in Step 1. If your application is accepted by the BlackBerry App World team, you will receive a BlackBerry App World Application ID in your e-mail box. (Please review Contest Rules for the competition here).
Step 4: Use your BlackBerry App World Application ID to submit your application for the Developer Challenge:
