Brad Pool – Manager, Fleet & Asset Tracking Products @ Verizon Enterprise Solutions
Brad Pool is a Product Manager for Verizon Enterprise Services. He has 7 years of experience in the M2M industry focused on launching end to end M2M solutions.
Most recently Brad has built solutions for the transportation vertical focusing on Fleet and Asset tracking, with the goal of increasing CDMA market penetration in these key verticals. By bringing together innovative devices, best in class wireless networks and industry leading applications, VES provides customers with powerful solutions to tough business challenges.
Brad has held positions as an M2M Open Development Manager at both Verizon and Sprint. Brad holds a BBA degree in Computer Information Systems from James Madison University.
Brian Langel – Co-Founder & CTO of Dash
Over 10 years of experience in front and back end development for both mobile and web, including Java, Objective C, as well as firmware development.
As a Technical Manager at HBO, he worked on the deployment of HBO GO, as well as the software for boxing’s PunchForce technology; prior experience includes app dev for Union Pacific and McGraw Hill, as well as founding Ocheyedan LLC for wildlife tracking with hardware/software solutions.

Jeff Jenkins – Chief Operating Officer @ APX Labs
Jeff Jenkins is an entrepreneur and co-founder of APX Labs where he currently occupies the role of Chief Operating Officer. With its start developing biometric “Terminator Vision” software for military smart glasses, APX is a company dedicated to the mission of developing software products that enable emerging smart glasses to be truly effective in delivering contextually relevant, real-time, hands-free content. Jeff is one of the innovators behind the inception of truAR, an OS shell built to enable compelling augmented reality experiences in smart glasses by providing not only the run-time device experience, but also exposing robust APIs to third-party developers. Jeff brings over 15 years of software engineering experience to APX having worked previously to bring rapidly deployable vehicle-mounted cellular towers to the U.S. military as Director of Core Networks at Battlefield Telecommunications Systems and having engaged with a multitude of Fortune 500 companies in past enterprise software engineering consulting.
Jordan Jakubovitz – Associate Product Marketing Manager @ OPOWER
Jordan works on the Marketing and Strategy team at Opower, a provider of energy efficiency and customer engagement solutions for more than 80 utility companies in the US and around the world. He currently leads product marketing for Opower’s mobile solutions, and specifically focuses on understanding market requirements and communicating Opower’s product vision. Before taking on mobile, Jordan focused on marketing for Opower’s web products, where he launched Opower’s new Social application. Prior to joining Opower, Jordan worked on Capitol Hill for Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Jeff Merkley. He has a BA from Emory University.
Patricia Mechael – Executive Director of the mHealth Alliance
Patty has been actively involved in global health for 15 years with field experience in over 30 countries, primarily in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. She has worked with a broad range of institutions on research, program design and implementation, strategic planning and policy development for mHealth and eHealth initiatives, as well as reproductive health and women’s health and rights. Patty has a Masters in International Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and Hygiene and a PhD in Public Health and Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she specifically examined the role of mobile phones in relation to health in Egypt. Prior to joining the mHealth Alliance, she was Director of Strategic Application of Mobile Technology for Public Health and Development at the Center for Global Health and Economic Development at the Earth Institute. She is also faculty at the School of International and Public Affairs and Earth Institute, Columbia University.
