m-commerce : taking asia by storm
Posted on: September 8, 2009 – Filed under: Sydney
Following on from last night’s very well-attended m-commerce event at Mobile Monday Sydney, here’s a link to a Terrapin event website for m-commerce Asia 2010:
… the key stats from this event flyer are worth extracting :
“In Asia, mobile commerce transactions are expected to reach almost $500 million, according to Gartner research. Gartner also forecasts 2.4 billion transactions will take place in Asia, more than anywhere else in the world.”
This of course in stark contrast to the low-key predictions of our speakers Harold (m-Hits), Chris (Pay by Snap) and Tasha (PayPal) about the glacially slow progress of m-commerce in Australia where ‘there’s just no compelling need for anyone – especially banks – to change the status quo’.
Comments on that anyone ?
