Our March event is the AIMIA Awards Mobile Wrap-Up!

For MMMM (MoMoMelbMarch) we figured it was only reasonable to take a look at all things mobile from the awards, get an insight into the journeys the successful apps have followed so far and discuss how the humble handset is increasingly intrinsic to communications and marketing in all industry sectors.

So, join us on the Ides of March (March 15th) to meet and speak with award finalists (including Alistair Ward from local crew Visual Jazz), Sally Davies from Sensis, judges who made the tough calls (including industry legend Gregan McMahon) and folk from AIMIA Vic as we get down to brass tacks about dealing with clients (or indeed being the client), production processes, budgets, timelines, leapfrogging technology developments and ever whatever else springs to mind.

To get the conservation going, we are delighted to welcome our guest and co-host for the night Mr. Anton Sher of FrontFoot, winner of this (ans last) year’s Best Mobile Product or Service category for their tidy 3 Mobile Content Portal and EA Games Mobile Site, respectively!

So, if you want some insight into what works for these awards events and maybe fancy claiming one for yourself one day, this event will be a good place to start!

Event Time, Location & Directions:

Date: Monday 15th March
Time: 6:00pm (for a 6.30pm punctual start) – 8.30pm
Location: Horse Bazaar 397 Little Lonsdale St, Melbourne

V21: Meet the New Generation Digital Business Models

Melbourne – Thursday 15 April 2010

The desire to realise our ideas and dreams is fundamental to human nature. The only limitation on turning those ideas and dreams into something concrete in the digital age in which we now live, is our imagination and creativity – provided that we’re prepared to leave some baggage behind.

The interactivity that technology now enables, its ability to deliver information “anywhere, anytime” on the target audiences’ “platform of choice”, our expectation as consumers to get “more for less” year on year and our need as business people to continue to make profits – challenges traditional business models and demands continual innovation.

We’re at a tipping point where business success belongs to the creative and agile who are prepared to re-invent and rejuvenate traditional business models in any industry, to identify and exploit niches, to live with the fact that “barriers to entry” will continue to be eroded, and to year on year find new ways to make themselves heard above the noise and move outside their comfort zones.

As we find new ways of understanding ourselves and our world and discover new forms of community we will build the new institutions and new businesses of the interactive age.

V21 2010 presents recent case studies of what worked and what didn’t and looks at the emerging opportunities in the travel, retail and entertainment industries.

With presentations from: ABC, Sitepoint, Red Bubble, Catalogue Central, Citrus, Perfumania, Onelove Music Group, Sound Alliance, FremantleMedia Enterprises and the AIIA .
