August 9th Mobile Monday NY Event Recap

Thanks to all for attending last Monday’s event.

Rather then skip the month of August (as is MoMo NY tradition) Go800  kindly offered to sponsor the event as a hybrid Go800 NY launch party/Mobile Monday NY networking event.

For those who did not attend, by 8:00PM the room was packed (and getting hot),  the music was pumping thanks to our visiting German DJ, and conversations were flowing along with the beer (Blue Point) and champagne that were FINALLY chilled to perfection. Alexis Rondeau, Antony McGregor Dey, and Lilia Lee Yee did an awesome job at the door greeting everyone.

Congrats to Jonathan from the MMA who took home this month’s giveaway – an Apple iPad. To enter attendees were asked to text IPAD to 46800 and experienced  Go800’s Voice Keyword™ service — which worked flawlessly as experienced when everyone’s phone started ringing simultaneously around the room. Most of the night Ike Sutton, CEO of Go800 was surrounded by people interested in his Voice Keyword service.

We would also like to acknowledge the attendance of the Layar team fresh in from Amsterdam. The team visiting consisted of Claire (co-founder, and so very cool),  Matt who’s running the commercial department, Community manager Maurice and Marc from Hoppala – a Layar developer representing the Layar Partner Network. It was great to get caught up on Layar’s progress.

Announcements

We have a series of topics being planned for the fall that we think you guys will appreciate — more on that in a future post. In the meantime, we are actively looking for additional event topics and sponsors so contact us over here if you can help with that.

Antony McGregor Dey, CEO of QMCODES and Founder of Mobile Monday Melbourne will be joining the team as a co-organizer. Also volunteering is Lilia Lee Yee, formally of Beijing. Lilla and Antony plan in part to help us build bridges between the NY chapter and chapters within their home countries. We hope to be able to offer some sweet cross cultural/technical events in the coming months.
