Here at MOMO Joburg we feel like a little kid before Christmas! We have over 200 people registered for tonight’s launch event of MOMO Joburg Tech and 15 Startups have confirmed they will be presenting/pitching/demoing their awesome stuff!

MOMO is growing bigger and bigger and its all thanks to all of you, I hazard to say that MOMO Joburg is just about ( if not already ) the biggest community group/event focused on mobile in South Africa!

We cant wait to see you all there tonight and join us for an evening of exciting startups, networking and mobile fun!

Great news! We are proud and excited to announce the launch of a MOMO Joburg event called MOMO Tech!

MOMO Tech is an event which will happen every second month which will focus exclusively on mobile from a techie/developer and startup perspective!

We will be having our launch event on the 28th March, which will be sponsored by an awesome and exciting mystery sponsor who we will reveal closer to the time!

Apologies for the silence from MOMO Joburg for a week or 2 but we have been working feverishly behind the scenes on a new initiative which we think you will all enjoy! We will be announcing this new initiative in the next 2 weeks and for all you Mobile Techies, Startups, Entrepreneurs and others please keep the last week of your March diary free for an exciting MOMO event just for you!

We are finalising an awesome headline sponsor for our April MOMO Joburg event which will be titled “The Mobile Cloud” – this will be a very interesting topic for all tech and non-techie people in mobile, and we will be looking at this topic from a couple of different angles; so please check back soon for event details!

We are all set for MOMO Joburg’s first event of 2011 themed “Mobile in Retail” with Candy Goodman and Baron Marshall presenting on this topic; our exciting startup will be Mobicover, Clayton Hayward will be telling us more about his exciting new app. based product. We have also managed to convince Mike Joubert from Techsmart Magazine to give us a run down on some hot mobile gadgets!

Our mobile startup of the month of February will be a hot new startup called Mobicover run by Clayton Hayward, a serial technology entrepreneur and business strategist.

Exciting news, we have managed to get some of Simon Dingle’s time to present the “mobile gadget spot” at MOMO Joburg on the 7th February!

Simon Dingle is a technology journalist, writer, broadcaster and professional speaker. He is technology editor at Finweek magazine as well as Live Out Loud and contributes to Fin24.com. Simon also hosts (tech)5 on 5FM and the ZA Tech Show Podcast.

Simon has been published in Brainstorm, iWeek, G.E.A.R., Digital Life, Unwired, Net.Work and other titles. He is a columnist for Fin24.com and used to be for SA Computer Magazine (SACM) until the publication was recently retired. You can find his blog at http://simon.co.za.
