News update! MobileMonday Madrid will open with a special presentation by Enrique Dans.
For the opening of the 2008-2009 season, the next MobileMobile Madrid in IE Business School, on September 29th, will address the topic of Mobile Internet Platforms with three major players: Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft to know their plans for the mobile business.
José Antonio Martínez Aguilar (Director of the Telecom and Media Division at Google), Alex Romero (Director for Strategic Partnerships for Portugal, Spain and France at Yahoo Europe) and Iván Lozano (Mobile Manager at Microsoft Spain) will share with us their view about the industry.
In addition, we´ll also have three Spanish start-ups that will present their elevator-pitch and will get feedback in return from the GYM.
Enrique Dans, Professor of Information Systems and Techologies at IE Business School
He holds a Ph.D. in Management from UCLA, an MBA from Instituto de Empresa, a B.Sc. from Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, and post-doctoral studies at Harvard Business School. His research interests include the effects of technology at three different levels of analysis: people, organizations, and industries. Professor Dans keeps a permanent presence in Spanish and international media, and is also an extremely prolific blogger: his blog, enriquedans.com, started in February 2003, is considered a very influential reference in today’s Spanish technology panorama.
Alex Romero, Director for Strategic Partnerships for Portugal, Spain and France at Yahoo Europe
Alejandro has over 12 years of experience in the telecoms industry. Alejandro joined early this year Yahoo! Europe as Director for Strategic Partnerships for Portugal, Spain and France. Alejandro joins Yahoo! from Vodafone where he held several positions in Vodafone Spain; most recently as Head of Mobile Internet. He has also worked for Vodafone Group in the UK and Germany as part of the Vodafone Global organisation where he played a major role in driving Vodafone’s global mobile Internet strategy across Europe and Asia. Prior to this, Alejandro worked as a senior consultant for Alcatel Telecom Software & Services in Spain & South America. Alejandro Romero has an MSc in Industrial Engineering from the UMA, Spain, a MBA, with an Economics major from Henley Management College (UK), and different management courses by IMD, and INSEAD.
Iván Lozano, Mobile Manager at Microsoft Spain
With 9 years of experience in the mobile market area, Ivan has always been involved in mobile internet and services. His experience, allows him to have a global vision from the operator side and the service provider’s. Ivan has worked for different worldwide leading companies in the mobile industry, including Alcatel, Fujitsu and Telefónica, holding Product and Project Manager positions. Currently, Ivan Lozano is Mobile Manager for the On-Line division of Microsoft Ibérica ,and his main objective is to mobilize the company´s Internet services such as Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Hotmail, MSN Mobile Portal, etc.
Jose Antonio Martinez Aguilar, Director of the Telecom and Media Division at Google
Since 2006, José Antonio leads the growth of Google in those industries in Spain. He started his professional career at Soluziona and after this joined the newly born Airtel in 1995 in several positions of responsibility. He was later appointed as Director of the Internet Business Unit at Airtel, before he founded mCentric in 2000 where worked as VP for Sales and Marketing leading the international expansion in Europe, LatAm and Africa. José Antonio holds a MSc in Telecom Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a MBA from Instituto de Empresa Business School.
