Mobile Monday – March 2012

in Adelaide

This month we invite you to hear from Nick Ramage from the Legal Services Commission of SA and Daniel Kiley from Hessian Apps.

The Public Sector across Australia are rapidly embracing mobile apps, but how well are they doing it?   Can they use them to provide better, more accessible services?   Come to MoMo this month to hear a case study from Legal Aid SA. How are they using mobile technology? Which services are transferrable to mobile based apps?  What have been the learning’s for such a big organisation?  Which areas of Government are high priority to Get Mobile?

About Nick Ramage
Nick is the Communications Officer at the Legal Services Commission of South Australia. Nick’s experience has been in publicity, communications & marketing for social justice agencies, cultural organisations & other NFPs.

About Daniel Kiley
Daniel is the director of Hessian Apps, and a solicitor at Kelly & Co. Lawyers.  Under the Hessian Apps banner, Daniel has produced iOS apps for a number of legal organisations, including the Legal Services Commission, the Australasian Legal Information Institute, and the Law Society of South Australia.

About LegalAidSA

LegalAidSA is the official Legal Services Commission of South Australia.  They have developed an iPhone application for legal information and resources.   With the growth of mobile web technology being used increasingly to access news and information the production of a phone app by the Legal Services Commission was seen as a crucial step in enabling more South Australians to access online information about their legal rights and responsibilities.

Free download available on the App Store
The comprehensive application is free to download and provides 24/7 access to community legal information. It was designed by Hessian Apps & the Commission to assist the South Australian public on a wide range of legal issues such as divorce, workplace law, child support, vehicle accidents, going to court, guardianship and wills – as well as accessing further support from the Legal Services Commission.
