Mobile Monday Ann Arbor is going all out in September! This will be our grand event for the year and it will take place at the coolest tech place in town, the Ann Arbor Hands-on Museum ! We seek to cover a broad range of topics focused on how ALL businesses and professionals in Michigan can utilize mobile RIGHT NOW to improve their business.

Part 1: Overview – What should your mobile strategy be?
Part 2: Building an app – A panel of local development firms discussing the process of building an app, including picking a platform, major steps of the process, time to market, and other considerations, such as whether you should go native or web app (and what that actually means).
Dave Koziol – Arbormoon – Dave has been building native mobile apps since long before it was fashionable. He’s built commercial apps for Palm, Windows Mobile, Symbian, iOS, BlackBerry and Android. He is President of Arbormoon Software, Inc. , a company which specializes in helping build mobile solutions for their clients. He also runs CocoaHeads Ann Arbor, and encourages everyone interested in Cocoa development to attend CocoaHeads meetings.
Eric Shapiro – Relium – Perhaps best known for his silly “The Grouch” System Extension, Eric Shapiro has been writing award winning Macintosh software since 1985 and iPhone software since 2009. A 1986 graduate of the University of Michigan with degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Eric founded Relium Corp (then called Rock Ridge Enterprises) in 1987. Past clients have included Apple, Microsoft, Scholastic, MediaStation, MedImage, GoKnow, Irwin Magnetics, and many others. Recent mobile projects have included WunderMap and Who Is Hot? for The Weather Underground, BatterySense for Philips, The Missing Sync line of products for Mark/Space, and two upcoming iOS applications.
Angela Kujava – Logic Solutions – is Logic Solutions’ Director of Marketing and AnnArbor.com’s official Mobile Diva. In addition to marketing Logic’s mobile app expertise in speaking engagements, blogs, newsletters, and promotional materials, she consults and manages many client mobile app projects. She has been a guest speaker at FutureMidwest, Toledo AdWorks, Ann Arbor SPARK, Lunch Ann Arbor Marketing, and several Apple Stores around the country, presenting her series of mobile app presentations: Mobile Apps 1-2-3, Mobile Apps: From Idea to App Store, How to Go Mobile, and Profiting with Mobile. In addition, Angela frequently serves as a strategy consultant and content writer to clients, helping them craft the best solutions for web and mobile projects.
Matt Gaidica – Prime – Matt is an engineer at Prime who spends most of his time on the backend, writing code for applications, and often making necessary innovations for better mobile experiences. Matt also acts as the primary interface between the client’s of Prime, and has worked hard to give non-technical people a good understanding of all the opportunities the web has. Matt has a special place in his heart for QR code discussions, NFC technologies, and making things smarter, and simpler. Matt focused on software and electromagnetics while getting his degree at Kettering University.
Part 3: Mobilizing your website – A panel of local development firms discussing the process of mobilizing your website.
Al Carpinelli – Logic Solutions – brings more than 30 years of technology industry experience to his role as account executive at Logic Solutions. He specializes in systems integration business development, helping clients bring their web and mobile presence forward in great strides, at the same time integrating and taking full advantage of investments in their legacy systems. Al’s areas of expertise include web and mobile application solutions, technical customer support in commercial and educational systems, scoping and project management for custom IT applications, database design support, and market analysis and planning.
Marisa Smith – Founder & President of The Whole Brain Group – Marisa Smith is Founder and President of The Whole Brain Group, an Ann Arbor, Michigan based web development company that specializes in integrated digital marketing solutions for business, education and and non-profit organizations. The company helps its clients work more efficiently and profitably by combining the power of the web with mobile applications and social media. Websites developed by Marisa’s company are built to be social media machines – integrating with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other popular platforms – to drive traffic to websites and increase exposure for clients. As the market share of technologies like the iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android grow, her clients are also demanding more mobile solutions to allow on-the-go access to information. Brad Birdsall – Prime – Brad is mobile web developer specializing in front-end development at Prime. From mobile web to web apps, Brad has delivered products for companies large and small. He is a 23yr old mobile web whizzbang with the goal of making a better web.

We will have the Hands-on Museum reserved for the group from 5:30 on, and you are free to bring your significant other and kids to roam around prior to the meeting (and during for the kids and significant other if they don’t want to hear about mobile)!
