Promise of Cross-Platform: One Set of Code, Many Platforms

Posted on: October 4, 2010 – Filed under: Ann Arbor

Why develop on one platform when you can develop on all of them with the same set of code? This is the promise of Titanium and similar types of applications, which allows you to code apps one time with HTML, CSS and JavaScript and then port then to iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and others. This has huge implications for your mobile business, whether you are doing the development or managing the business.

But does it live up to the promise, or fall short and actually cause more complexity than it is worth? We will try to address this all-important question with presenters that have first hand experience with working on each individual platform and with Titanium to cover all platforms.
