It’s The Spring Edition of Mobile Monday Sydney!
Spring has sprung and you can feel it in the air as well as see it in the plethora of new mobile devices that are sprouting up getting ready for the highly competitive Christmas sale season. Smartphones are beginning to dominate & it’s time to debate what are our favorite platforms are that make these colourful additions to our geeky lives.
To celebrate Spring, BlackBerry will be sponsoring drinks again on the evening so come on time & don’t miss out on the evening’s edutainment whilst partaking of a comforting beverage of your choice. BlackBerry is also giving everyone that comes along to the event a special Spring gift!
Agenda:
- mHITS – Harold Dimple will give us an overview of a new exciting mobile service mHITS is deploying in New Guinea with business partner DataNets Limited, specifically aimed at providing a total payment solution for the unbanked. Called mPowa the service works by linking a mobile wallet account to the users mobile phone number.
- The Great Smartphone Debate – We are going to create teams from the audience that will debate the wonders of their chosen mobile platform. What is it about your mobile you love so much? Fire up some Spring Fever and you may be selected to join your favorite mobile platform team.
Who will be voted the ultimate platform? Nokia, Android, Apple, RIM or ZTE? Ok maybe not ZTE… But you will decide on the night! - BlackBerry Update – BlackBerry will be updating us on,
- the new features in their new mobile operating system version 6.0 as well as,
- an update on their new and improved mobile application store App World 2.0 and,
- details of some upcoming local developer training
