MoMo Detroit – April 15th – Windows 8 Connected Experience

With the release of Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, Microsoft has revamped their entire ecosystem and opened the door for a more seamless computing experience. Whether at work, home, or on the go, Microsoft is focused on allowing users to stay connected to the data that is important to them. Users no longer interact with Windows through just a PC, but through many new devices such as phones and tablets. This shift in the Windows ecosystem has changed the way both users and developers approach Windows.
Join speakers from (Microsoft) & Vectorform as we explore this new Windows ecosystem and how to get the most from what Microsoft has to offer. We will look at what defines Windows 8 and how it has changed the way a user a user interacts with their computing devices. Along the way, we will examine some of the new features and benefits of Windows 8 for both business and personal use. Vectorform will also provide some insight into the development process of a Windows 8 application, identifying some of the new pitfalls and ways to overcome them as well as some of the key features every Windows 8 application should have to be successful. Throughout the talk, Vectorform will be demonstrating a few of the applications that they have developed including Toolbox for Windows 8.
The meeting takes place at Compuware Headquarters on Monday, April 15th at 5:30 p.m., and is FREE to attend, though reservations are required for security and catering purposes.
FREE parking is available to those who utilize Compuware’s parking deck and have their parking stub validated when signing in at the meeting. Refreshments will be served.

Richard Geyer
Working as a lead interactive developer at Vectorform, Richard Geyer has specialized in developing both multi-touch and natural user interface applications on the cutting edge of technology. His proficiency in everything C# has allowed him to bring to life programs for nearly every Microsoft platform. Richard began his career at Vectorform with Microsoft Surface development for the Microsoft stores, developing one of the most popular Surface games, Galactic Alliance. Since then, he has created experiences for the PixelSense, Kinect, Windows 7, and Windows Phone 7. Currently, Richard is working on creating innovative applications for both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 including Vectorform’s own ‘Toolbox’ as well as many other client applications. Richard has come to love working on a variety of projects and platforms, and thrives to push both himself and the technology he works with to new and never before seen heights.
