Posted on: November 19, 2012 – Filed under: Silicon Valley
Drinks and appetizers will be served
Mobile Monday is hosting a mobile mixer this month with Firefox creator, Mozilla at its San Francisco office on the 7th floor of the Hill’s Bros Coffee building, with its panoramic views of the bay.
Mozilla is a non-profit organization that has been a pioneer and advocate of the Web for more than decade, bringing its Firefox browser to over 400 million people. Early next year it will launch Firefox OS.
Just as it did on the desktop, Mozilla is setting out to ensure that the mobile Web is full of freedom, choice and opportunity and that it has the ability for users to create anything they want. With Firefox OS, Mozilla can break open the world of native operating systems and closed platforms once again.
Firefox OS devices will launch in early 2013 through Telefónica, establishing HTML5 as a viable platform for the mobile industry. The Web as the platform will free developers to create groundbreaking new apps that work seamlessly across all devices, spurring a new era of innovation and creativity for the ubiquitous Web.
Join fellow mobile enthusiasts for an evening of appetizers, drinks and mixing and mingling to find out what’s happening in world of the mobile Web. Mozilla will be providing an overview of Firefox OS, Firefox for Android and its Firefox Marketplace. Afterwards, there will be a chance to mingle with Mozillians and see up-close demos of Firefox for Android, the Firefox Marketplace and the latest experimental build of Boot to Gecko, which will early next year evolve into Firefox OS.
