Busy week at Mobilemonday Brussels ahead of 27/9 appsmarathon

Today during a pizzalunch, core team will look at evolution of the professional mobile scene in Belgium and look how tis can be supported at best.  Topics of discussion will include looking at mobile themes for meetings between December and June of next year; internal organisation. Agenda Fall -Winter Season MoMo Brussels

On 27/9 we welcome you at the AppsMarathon, an event that focuses on mobile apps development. Registrations are now open to everybody who’s interested. If you are a developer and you want to present your app, do not forget to register before 15/9. Appsmarathon update

The organisational aspects of the Appsmarathon of 27/9 are taking shape!   In July the mobilemonday team had a meeting with cafénumerique to have a look at how to obtain the best possible content for mobile developers.   This week the event’s website will be adapted to enable mobile developers to apply for a sweet presentation spot and to participate in the appscircus contest.  We also visited Claridge, the event’s location and are working on making the event as interactive as possible. M2M: presentations online

On the 7th of June, the mobilemonday crowd gathered at GSMA Europe for an evening about M2M or communicating machines. This event showed that mobile is pervasive, and that a fix object is just one that is temporarily not moving. So everything becomes mobile, connected, localised, pervasive. This technological evening, from the heart of the different innovation labs on this topic in Belgium (trials IBM of ITS telematics, Orange m2m center at Mobistar) showed the silent evolution that will make our society a more connected and intelligent one. M2M: what does it mean?

For those of you not familiar, it means machine to machine.  What happens when mobile machines are being connected to a mobile network and start interacting with each other and with humans?   Some part of it is called ‘the internet of things’, which is also a difficult term to understand, let’s look at it as machines (parking readers, weather stations, …) starting to communicate and behave in a more knowledgeable way.  Hear more about it at the next event on 7/6
