Microsoft Plans to Integrate Windows Phone 7

Microsoft Corp. said its forthcoming Windows Phone 7 platform will be integrated with its Xbox console. “The idea is not to make a mobile version of Halo, as such, the idea is to extend gaming to mobile,” Vesa-Matti Paananen, a Microsoft business development executive based in Finland, said at a Mobile Monday event in Tallinn, Estonia. Ugandan Wins Global Mobile Communications Award

Mr Alex Nyika, a Ugandan software developer based in Kenya, on Monday scooped the top prize at one of Europe’s most prestigious mobile communication innovation awards. Mr Nyika, the chief executive Xrystalgenius , a Nairobi-based mobile startup, won the Base of the Pyramid award at the 2010 Mobile Monday Peer Awards that took place in Helsinki, Finland. CScout Visits Mobile Monday Brooklyn in Manhattan

Last night CScout attended Mobile Monday Brooklyn, a monthly meet-up for mobile industry professionals. This month’s theme was New York-based apps, and six companies were invited to demo their products. Location-based services were (not surprisingly) very popular, such as UpNext’s 3D maps and Roadify’s new app, which connects people with real-time commuting information. Meet Revence Kalibwani, a 25 year-old ‘self-made’ software developer. The computer whiz kid is set to represent Uganda at the 2010 Mobile Monday Peer Awards in Helsinki, Finland on September 25. The prestigious mobile communication awards recognise outstanding mobile software developers from around the world annually. Mobile Monday Mid-Atlantic has named Chuck Sacco president and announced the topic of its first meeting of its 2010-11 season, which will be held Monday night. Sacco is the vice president of client strategy at Bryn Mawr-based Movitas LLC, which he joined when it acquired a company he co-founded, PhindMe LLC, late last year.
