Mobile industry leaders from over 30 countries will gather in Helsinki, Finland, and St. Petersburg, Russia, at MobileMonday Global Summit 2007, one of the most significant worldwide industry events. The three-day event taking place in Helsinki on September 10 will continue in St. Petersburg on September 11-12 and gather over over 1500 participants.
The power behind text messaging continues to play a crucial role in mobile evolution
The mobile phone industry is celebrating the 15th birthday of the Short Message Service Centre (SMSC), the principal application behind text messaging first brought to market by Acision in 1992. The first ever SMSC was introduced as a product designed primarily to deal with the demands and improve reliability of a developing mobile industry, and in that year the first of many deals was signed with Telenor, one of Europe’s leading network operators.
