Get Ready for GoMobile – and Behold – MoMo Startup Battle of Alberta!

Here’s a quick round-up for MoMo global events this week while we prepare to descend on KLCC, with many chapter founders and friends from around the APAC region, for the 5th annual GoMobile conference and trade-show. Meanwhile, it must be spring in western Canada – with no teams there running for the Stanley Cup – as a new Battle of Alberta is brewing between Calgary and Edmonton who both have planned gatherings tonight in co-op with their local Startup groups = Fight Smile!

Now, in usual alpha-order, for MoMo events running May 7th we have; Ann Arbor with App Marketing and Public Relations, the Boston team has MobileCamp (on the 12th) with MIT Sloan, as noted above, the Startup community joins forces in Calgary and – for the 1st time – Edmonton. Our home office in Helsinki does From Ideas to Innovation while Islamabad has Meet the Wi-Tribe Bazaar founders and JoBurg is back in the saddle – Changing the World. A double shot in Pakistan as Karachi is also ‘on’ 05.07 with mLearning theme, Kuala Lumpur meets at the swanky GTower venue to discuss Telcos Around the World and Miami runs their May Mixer at Gulfstream Park. We note Montreal has Mobile Funding Lifecycle topic ontap as MoMo Riga does their #3 show and Silicon Valley visiting at Google to talk Mobile Ads. It seems Syndey has some sneaky surprises in store, agenda just announced at T-6hrs from show-time, and rounding out our run for this week in Toronto who will focus on What Makes a Great App. We’d say anything that turns penny’s into dollars at mass scale would be good!

Looking forward to MoMo events for May 14th, so far, we see Ahmedabad has HTML5 Magic plans while Beijing plans International Entrepreneurship theme and Chicago digs into How To Protect and Use IP. Detroit will run Handling the Mobile Mob (good luck with that!) and Dublin does Going Mobile with Google while Dusseldorf looks to Mobile in the Cloud. Otherwise, Madison has Best Practices for Mobile Strategies and Ottawa plays host to Alec Saunders from RIM. Whew, 24 shows in 8 nights!

Before we sign-off, a few well-deserved shouts for post event reports from last week: Congrats to all involved at MoMo Athens mHealth competition, the Birmingham gig at Launch Games Conf. got whole lotta tweets – some Pix Here, Hanoi ran May 3rd (we missed that), Jakarta uploaded a bunch of photos from their Apps for the People event while our new chapter debut in Minsk made National TV News, it certainly looks like the after-party they had there was a Pretty Rockin affair too..

That’s a wrap.. little doubt y’all have a Super evening – Drive Safe – and Hey.. Smile.. It’s Monday!
