Mobile Voices

Mobile Voices, a participatory project which has created a Drupal-based digital storytelling platform for first-generation, low-wage migrant workers in Los Angeles, allowing them to create and publish stories about their communities directly from their mobile phones. Speaker: Charlotte Lapsansky is a PhD Candidate and American Association of University Women Dissertation Fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California. Charlotte has a background in development communication and mass media campaigns addressing gender and health in India. At Annenberg, her research interests include communication for social change. UN’s Climate Change Conference (COP15) in December 2009 and the yearly returning Copenhagen Fashion Week in August 2010 were two major events in Copenhagen in the last year. The Mobile Technology Association of Michigan, which could launch early next year, would connect local start-ups with mobile developers and designers who could bring prominence to the region, said Linda Daichendt, a co-founder of Mobile Monday — Michigan and the founder of the trade organization.
